Avoid this hotel if your goal is to rest. They don’t respect their guests and there’s construction going on since 7 a.m. every day. Loud music from the workers, cutting wood, metal, and stone. I woke up with my small daughter every day to this unbearable noise and dust. The service is terrible — they never cleaned properly or replaced the towels as needed. The kids' pool is freezing cold, and children can’t get in. The jacuzzis are very dirty and uninviting. Don’t waste your time and money at the restaurant — the food is bad, and the service is even worse. One time, they even served spoiled food. They don’t listen to feedback. I complained about the noise for several days and nothing was done. I do not recommend this hotel.

Zagaia On the positive side - Great infrastructure and recreational staff for kids Beautiful grounds Travel agency that books your activities in Bonito for you. Good breakfast. Very nice and attentive staff at the restaurant. Comfortable large beds. Curtains that block the light completely. On the negative side - Be prepared to arrive for a late afternoon check in, with extra slow, untrained front desk service, and no help with your suitcases and finding your room in the dark (no resort maps available). The rooms face each other and don’t have a set of sheer curtains. When you’re in the room you have to close the blackout curtains and no light comes in. No closet in the room. Instead, there’s a bar with three hangers and a shelf in the bathroom. No drawers. The bathroom has no windows. Anything you wash and hang in the bathroom will never dry. Bathrooms have three extremely loud exhaust fans each. Housekeeping routinely cleans empty rooms and leaves the exhaust fans on (together with the lights). Be prepared to hear exhaust motors all night. We realized what the noise was after two difficult nights, and had them turned off in the neighboring room. Terrible room maintenance: Upon arrival, we noticed that the phone in the room wasn’t working and we had that changed. The showers have a rubber strip on the floor to keep the water from flooding the bathroom. Half of our rubber strip was missing. Maintenance said it would be replaced the next day, but this never happened because they had to order the piece. The front desk asked us to change rooms, which would have been work for us, but housekeeping found a bandaid solution by wrapping a towel in a plastic bag and using that to dam the water in the shower stall. One leaky sink, and the other stopped up - never fixed despite two calls to the front desk which leads me to: Terrible front desk service (and not just checking in). We once forgot a bikini that was left out to dry on a bench near the front door. We noticed on the road and called the front desk to have someone put it in the room for us, and it was still on the bench when we returned in the afternoon. Be prepared to come back to your room at 5:05pm after a long day of activities, to find that housekeeping didn’t clean your room. Then call the front desk and nothing happens. The solution was to speak to the manager of the front desk, who personally brought the one and only housekeeper on duty that tends to emergencies after 5pm. Had to help her to do the bed in order to speed things up. Such a shame because I was here twenty years ago and it used to be an excellent hotel. Will not return, as there is now a better option available.

This wasn't the greatest fit for us. They only had one person at the entire resort that spoke English. We we arrived in the evening they didn't seem prepared for us. Luckily the one English speaker was working. She (Ruth) was a sweetheart, but they got lost taking us to our room in the golf cart and when we arrived, it seemed as if this building wasn't ready for guests. There was no hot water in the shower or sinks, we had no hand towels or water glasses. Just very disorganized. We got the water fixed in the sink the next day, but had to have them come back to get the hot water in the shower working. The resort itself is very nice, but it's really setup for families and kids. And, there were a lot there. This isn't really a problem for us, but, once again, probably not the best fit. We would have been better off in a resort in the downtown area where we could visit the cute little downtown. The room, once we got the water problem fixed was fine. Big, nice bed. The sinks, however are tiny. The swim-up bar was nice and everyone was nice enough trying to figure out our English and their Portuguese. The pool areas were pretty. The food at breakfast and Dinner was pretty standard buffet fare. Looked like they had some special food for the weekend, but we were there during the week.

The wonderful team at Zagaia were amazing! ! The resort has all the facilities we needed and it was the kids favourite part of our Brazilian holiday! The kids club recreacio was AMAZING!!!!!!! Tio Xuxa, Tio Mancha, Tio Leo, Tia Flor, Tio Lino, Tia Geleia Tia Japa and Tia Coquinho made sure our kids (Mirella 8 and Dante 5) had the absolute best time. We are from Australia and didn’t speak much Portuguese, but the teachers and their friends and other kids helped as translators. We had so much fun and learnt so much! Our kids will be talking about their favourite teachers from Brazil for their entire lives! The staff were the highlight of the resort! Will will remember staying here forever! THANK YOU!!!!!

Hotel muito bom, mas os recreadores realmente roubam a cena. Tio Pudim e tia Piu piu sem dúvidas os melhores que já vi. Obrigada por isso, hotel Zagaia. O café da manhã um dos melhores que já provei, variedade demais , os garçons do bar são uns queridos .
